ACS RPL pathway
For non-ICT-degreed candidates, ACS RPL requires:
- Two RPL project reports — each ~2,000 words, demonstrating major web-administration projects.
- One project should be within the last 3 years.
ANZSCO 313113 task focus
Reference letters must show at least 65% time on web-administration work:
- CMS administration — WordPress (with WP-CLI, WP Engine / Kinsta workflows), Drupal (Acquia / Pantheon), Joomla, Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, Optimizely (Episerver), Kentico, Squiz Matrix, Umbraco.
- Web server administration — Apache, Nginx, IIS, LiteSpeed.
- Hosting platform administration — AWS (EC2, ECS, Fargate, App Runner, S3 / CloudFront, Route 53, ACM), Azure (App Service, AKS, Blob Storage, Azure CDN, Azure DNS), GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud CDN, Cloud DNS), Cloudflare (Workers, Pages, R2), Vercel, Netlify, WP Engine, Kinsta, Pantheon, Acquia.
- DNS management — Route 53, Cloudflare DNS, NS1, Azure DNS, Google Cloud DNS, GoDaddy, Crazy Domains.
- SSL / TLS certificate management — Let's Encrypt automation (Certbot, acme.sh), DigiCert, GlobalSign, Sectigo.
- CDN configuration — Cloudflare (caching rules, page rules / transform rules / cache rules), Akamai, Fastly, AWS CloudFront, Azure CDN.
- Web Application Firewall (WAF) — Cloudflare WAF, Akamai Kona, Imperva, F5 BIG-IP ASM, AWS WAF, Azure Front Door / Front Door WAF.

- Backup / disaster recovery — daily backups, restore drills.
- Incident response — outages, security incidents.

English
ACS doesn't directly require English. Home Affairs requires Competent English; for points-tested visas target Proficient or Superior.
Common pitfalls
- Web developer experience. If your work is HTML / CSS / JavaScript / PHP / Python / Ruby coding, 261212 Web Developer fits better.
- DevOps / cloud platform engineering. Infrastructure-as-code / CI/CD / Kubernetes / Terraform-heavy roles may fit 261313 Software Engineer or 263111 Computer Network and Systems Engineer better.
- Content-only roles. If your work is content writing / editing without technical administration, 224313 Editor / journalism codes fit better.
