Reference letters must show at least 65% time on roof tiling work:
- Concrete roof tile installation — Monier, Boral, Bristile.
- Terracotta roof tile installation.
- Slate / fibre cement slate installation.
- Ridge / hip / valley capping — mortar-bedded-and-pointed, dry-ridge mechanical fixing.
- Anti-ponding board installation.
- Sarking installation (reflective foil / vapour barrier).
- Tile clipping — Cyclone-clip per wind-zone requirements, wire-tie, nail.
- Waterproofing flashings.
- Dormer / chimney flashings.
- Batten installation — timber and steel.
- Roof restoration — lift-and-relay, repointing, recoating (Astec / Roof Seal).
- Reading roof plans.
- Setting out from drawings — pitch, fall, course lines.

- Certificate III in Roof Tiling (CPC31020) — Australian Cert III.
- White Card (CPCCWHS1001) — mandatory.
- Working at Heights — essential for roof work.
