RACP Specialist Pathway sequence

- Medical Board Specialist Registration
- 12 months supervised practice (Substantially Comparable)
- FRACP + Renal Medicine Fellowship granted
- ANZSN membership post-arrival
Qualification evidence
Submit:
- Primary medical degree (MBBS / MD / equivalent) certificate + transcript
- Internal medicine Fellowship (MRCP / FRCPC / ABIM)
- Renal medicine sub-specialty CCT / Fellowship
- Origin-side specialist registration
- Continuing professional development records (5+ years recent)
Clinical experience evidence
Each role:
- Hospital employer letter
- Title — Consultant Nephrologist / Senior Nephrologist / Lead Nephrologist
- Dates and FTE hours
- Caseload (CKD, dialysis, transplant, glomerular disease)
- Sub-specialty interests (transplant, glomerular, ICU nephrology, etc.)
For locum / agency:
- Agency letters
- Hospital reference letters
English requirement
RACP + Medical Board requires:
- OET — grade B each component
- IELTS Academic — 7.0 each band
- PTE Academic — 65 each
Common reasons assessments stall
- Insufficient consultant-level renal evidence. Need post-Fellowship consultant practice
- Origin-side registration restrictions. Unrestricted essential
- English test too old. Test must be valid (typically 2 years for OET)
