Workforce demand is enormous.
Aged-care home-round collectors are scarce. Mobile collectors who visit aged-care facilities and home patients are a fast-growing segment — particularly with Australia's aged-care population (~250k residential + larger home-care). Driving licence and own car are typically required.
Paediatric venepuncture is a multiplier. Paediatric hospitals (RCH Melbourne, Sydney Children's, Queensland Children's, Perth Children's, Women's & Children's Adelaide) recruit specifically for paediatric-competent collectors. Heel-prick (neonatal Guthrie / metabolic screen) capability moves you up the shortlist.
Regional collection centres struggle to staff.
